Audubon Signature Program

Montecristo has registered with Audubon International as a partner working towards Audubon Signature status for the community and golf course. Audubon Signature Programs provide comprehensive environmental planning assistance to new developments. The programs help landowners and developers design for the environment so that both economic and environmental objectives are achieved. Once construction is complete, involvement in an Audubon Signature Program ensures that managers apply sustainable resource management practices in long-term stewardship of the property. This is an ongoing process that will dictate how the community and golf course operate after completion of construction.

Mike Young, our golf course architect, is a member of the Audubon International Golf Advisory Council. He said: "Presently we are in the Audubon Signature program working towards obtaining gold status at the opening of the project. This status is only awarded to courses and developments that begin the process before construction."
